Yeah, good, thanks.
Saturday morning... Thing is, as we have young kids, AND I'm a light sleeper, I wake up very early most days. Now, when drinking this was not a good thing, ann I would envy anyone who could lay in bed all morning... well perhaps not envy (what a waste of time!), but I sure could do with some rest.
Point being that even sober I feel worn out let alone hammering myself with drink.

People are still here to listen and support you, if you are willing to keep coming back!
Yeah, the hula dance has nothing to do with anything but it makes me smile...
Hi Dave, so glad you are back and I'm so sorry about your Day 1 but as Laylady said, it's exceptional for any alcoholic (or any addict) to get it right on the very first try. It's been 10 long years for me struggling with everything from heroin to alcohol to pills. But I haven't lost hope, I still believe it is possible. I'm back to Day 3 myself going thru opiate w/d's so don't beat yourself up. You CAN do this and you are worth it.
I hope you have found a new dr. since...pissed me off to read that.
Anyway, I truly hope you find your recovery. We will always be here to listen and support you.
Keep coming back to post

Welcome back - just keep taking it one day (hour) at a time and one ginger ale at a time ...... I couldn't think about not drinking forever and ever (didn't even want to quit, really), but I knew that I could get through the next minute and I just tried to keep it simple like that.
I spent a lot of time here and gave myself a break from worrying about all the crap I had to do. I also found that treating myself to something wonderful to eat each day gave me a little reward to focus on. I had tried every trick possible to keep drinking, so I decided to put my trickiness into getting sober!
Just glad you're back!:ghug3
