I guess I have little choice but to hang in there, you know?

Yeah, I guess I wouldn't be sleeping if I were dealing with what you're dealing with either.

But, lucky for us all the sources of alcohol are long since closed up for the night.

Nah, there is a bar down the street that stays open until 5a and sells $1 PBR tall boys lol. Other than wanting to stay sober, I won't go because I don't feel like the production of hair/makeup.

I have something I can take for sleep but its so hard to wake out of in the a.m. and get going that I don't want to take it. I want to get up and go for a walk before it gets blazing hot outside tomorrow. I bought new Sketchers FFS!!!

Heh, I guess I forget that people don't always live in the middle of nowhere like me

That's an extra good reason for me. Normally I don't worry about hair and makeup 'cause, you know, I'm a guy... but if I wanted to go out today with the way I look, I might want to consider hair and makeup.

Haha. First, I am in the middle of nowhere. Little Rock, AR to be exact. I am stuck here for another month or two before I can go back to Florida. Second, maybe just brush your hair and teeth or something. Geez, no need to look like Rupaul. haha

We don't have toofbreshes out here in the sticks. Hehe

Little Rock, AR sounds suspiciously like a city to me!

The nearest bar to my house is about 30 miles away. And it's closed. Not that I would want to go there anyway.

To me, LR is a small town. I loathe it and can't wait to go home!!!
So, how many cars did you find in your yard last time you mowed? LOL

Should I count the ones sitting on cinderblocks, or just the ones with tires?

Even if I still lived in Manhattan I wouldn't know where to go for a drink at this time of night...mostly because in the past I would have been assed out by now.

Oh yeah, absolutely. I rarely made it past 3:00. And I usually planned ahead so as to have all the alcohol I could possibly need before I even got started.

Hope you and LaFemme can get some sleep as well. Separately, of course.

Good for you for resisting the temptation. Remember that every craving will pass and you will feel prouder of yourself each time you resist and be stronger for it.

Hope you are feeling OK today goat

good morning Goat, Chakra, LaFemme and everyone.....i can totally relate to reading your posts....the hairs stood up on my arms when you don't remember what you've done.....thankfully i never did anyone harm except myself and most heavy drinking was done alone....but i could have easily killed myself with alcohol poisoning

then they could have inscribed my grave marker "She died of STUPIDITY"

here's to a great day for all of us.....like Goat said yesterday "Drawing Strength and Lending Strength"....that is what made me join the thread.

Goat, check the stores for chaomile tea, relaxing teas...try it before bedtime. try not to nap in the daytime so you can get into a regular sleep pattern....feel better.

Having a career in the mobile phone industry, at first I was like, who has a calendar these days?? Meaning, aren't we all just using our phone's calendar??

BUT, then I remembered what helped me during the sales phase of my career and that was to have that visual motivation. It is a BRILLIANT idea to mark your non phone calendar with a big proud S everyday so that if there is a day you are teetering, that calendar will keep you honest. Who wants to see all those S's and then one big F for FAIL?

Good call Fandy!!

ooooh, you must be very techology advanced (as opposed to me hyperventilating at the thought of using my call-waiting...j/k).

I just like to have a pretty picture calendar to write notes on...cats of course!

back in February-April I worked my way through some beaded elastic bracelets...i moved a little marker for every sober day and fiddled with them all the time....silly as it sounds, it helped, just like counting my "saved" calories from not consuming 8-10 glasses of wine each day.
