Been really looking forward to this post.

WOO-HOO!!!

I am 6 months sober today.

Can't say that it's been easy - especially at the beginning - but because I am in contact with fellow alkies on a daily basis, sometimes just logging in to see how others are getting on really gives you the strength to keep at it. I really think that is what has made the difference.

NICE ONE SR!!

I have just been looking back to my early posts with only a couple of weeks sobriety under my belt, and am amazed at how similar they are to the new members that keep coming on - point being, if I can do it, then everyone has a chance, so stick in, as the bad times don't last forever and it is a GOOD life. If you'd asked me that 6 months ago - is it possible to be happy without drink I would have said no - but here I am saying the exact opposite.
MINT!!
Anyway....thanks friends, no big deal, just another day, doing then same, a day at a time.

Nice one!

Stu.

Congratulations, Chopper. Your success inspires me and gives me hope that I will be able to achieve 6 months of sobriety in about 5 months. Thanks.

Congrats, my Brother! I relate to your observation re: posts of new members. Got me thinking... Be positive and focus on the day to day stuff and it will happen. I think early on we (at least i did) have difficulty living in the moment in a positive way; projecting current fear and negativity based on the past onto our current day and future. The only thing we can really affect/effect is our next action in the here and now. Conclusion: Fake it till you make it actually makes sense. Sorry for the ramble, but you made me think!
