Good advice from everybody else. You ask if you are on the right track? I can't answer that for you, only you can. But I can tell you that I don't want to be on the track you are on.

Sounds like you're in the stage of denial. Or maybe it's the bargaining stage because you are trying to renegotiate your alcoholism. You are not in control at this bargaining table. Haven't you tried this before? I'd bet most of the people on this forum have. I know I have. It's pretty much a waste of time to try to control something you can't. There's a reason for your health issues. Alcohol certainly has not helped that any. I'm sure if you look back at your past and your relationship with alcohol honestly, you will come to realize what you really need to do. Nerve problems, liver problems, "walking like a crab". Who wants to deal with that? Ask yourself, are those 3 double whiskeys really worth my life? We don't see it when we are actively drinking, but we really are hurting the people who love us the most. Congrats on 29 days sober. That's quite a start. I hope you decide to make it to 60 days and beyond. Good luck no matter which road you decide to follow. SS

Hi Laurie. When I came to this forum, and even within the last day or so I was still thinking I could have a casual affair with alcohol. After reading these posts for 5 days, day and night I have learned more about myself then I ever would've known had I not joined here. I've been a nightly drinker for a little over a year. I had to learn that it isn't how much or how often you drink, its what happens when you do. Lesson learned. I hope you make the right choice for you. I'm glad I took a long hard look at myself, and made the decision to stay sober before something tragic happened.

Welcome Chassey7 ...

When those horrific pains start....and the internal
bleeding and vomiting blood begins.....please call 911.
You may not live to get to a hospital.

Drinking alcohol...any alcohol will ensure that happens
when you have liver diseases.
I'm hopeing you take your doctors advice before then.

My friend B. was on a waiting list for a liver transplant.
14 months later...no alcohol...she was taken off the list.
This is serious stuff....please don't play around.

Hope you choose to have a future....
