60 Days Sober Today
60 Days Sober Today
It feels fantastic, and I feels wonderfully clear minded, and focused on the goals I have ahead of me. How did I do it? Meetings, meetings, meetings, I've been to at least 1 per day, usually 2-3 per day on the weekends or days off. I have a sponsor, and I am working through the steps of AA. Without these key elements, I know I couldn't have remained sober on my own. I see a lot of you struggling in and out in and out, and I am convinced the answer is meetings, sponsors, and steps.
SR is a wonderful place, where we can come shaking and terrified, and find some little sliver of light from others who truly understand us. SR helps me start my mornings off right, by reading and sharing with all of you, my day starts on the thing that matters, my alcoholic addiction. Thank you all.

Congrats on 60 days!! I'm about there myself. I remember when I would think "how can anyone be an alcoholic". This was when I would only have a few drinks on special occasions and not feel to well the next morning. I would think how can anyone go through this everyday? Alcohol is a sneaky evil demon. Once it grabs hold you have the fight of your life on your hands. It doesn't care about your race, religion or if your a casual drinker or a weekend drinker. It WILL destroy your life if you let it.
I for one, and all of the good people here are fighting to get our lives back. One day at a time one week, one month, one year. We need to stay vigilant, and never forget the pain and devastation this disease is capable of.
Best Wishes to you Lithobid , keep on fighting!

Congrats on the 60 days and the regular meetings!
I am almost to 60, just a few days away, and I go to a meeting, or more, everyday as well. I never thought it would help, or that AA was for me. But it is.
Isn't it strange to be sober and realize how much better it is than being drunk? Everyday brings something new. . .and we actually remember it clearly. Who would've thought?
Thanks for sharing your birthday with us, and keep up the great work!
