Completely clean for 38 days

It's been 5 months since I had a drink but only 38 days off of cannabis and benzos. Life became managable without alcohol but I knew I wasn't learing any real way to live by continuing to alter myself, plus my doses were going up and up true to addict form. It's been really, really hard to be with my own brain for this long, I hadn't even gone 24 hours for 13 years before. That said it is still so much better to know that I am learning so much about myself, I can be in my own company and enjoy it, I am a better girlfriend and have a better more productive life. Not having a hangover on a Saturday morning is a gift and not worrying about when my next pill or joint is is a huge relief. I am free, Freedom comes at a price sometimes but it's still much better than being a slave.

Keep fighting guys! Just wanted to share xx

Great post and you're right, even though it's hard, it's worth it!

Right on SereniTee, great work!

I was just like you about the same time ago also. Quit drinking only to smoke more and more of the green to compensate, then start drinking again because smoking no longer did anything due to crazy high tolerance.

Like you I finally realized to put it all down all at the same time was the only way to stop the same old song and dance!

I know its the net and I am just the text you see, but I am proud of you!
