Visual reminders around the house?

Just wanted to see if anyone here, had any good inspirational quotes posted or daily visual reminders to look at in there house. I'm trying to think of some visual reminders for myself of why I'm staying sober that I can place on the fridge, cabinets, or one of the many hiding spots where my alcohol use to be. Currently on day 4 and doing great with the help of this site.

Any ideas?

I have photos of my family, especially my two grandchildren, everywhere in my home.

Looking at them keeps me grounded, honest, and puts a smile on my face.

I mentally visualize handcuffs, police cars and jail time. That keeps me focused.
Congratulations on the 4 days, you can do this.

I know this might not work for anyone else but me but I have a few cans of my favorite beer that my SO had purchased by mistake early on when I decided to quit sitting in the fridge.

I will not touch them and knowing that they will expire and gone bad before I ever touch them is a great feeling.

Also the fact that these few beer have been the longest lasting in the fridge since I can remember proves not only to myself buy my wife that I am deadly serious and will never touch another drop in my life.

I am strange, but it does work for me

I keep a copy of AA step prayers handy. When I need relief, I get on my knees and pray. Sometimes that is the only thing that keeps me going and the power is in the asking.

Keep up the good work!

I know this may not work for everyone - but I post promises from the Bible - there are tons that I relate to, that really keeps me grounded and positive

That's a pretty cool idea... I had no hiding spots- but I burn incense around the rooms and play music for a change of atmosphere sometimes when I feel like drinking- classical is particularly effective.

Love it when people are adding to their recovery armor. My son and husband are my visual ammo. Good luck!!

I bought a dry-erase whiteboard and corkboard combo from a craft store for like four bucks. I write quotes and phrases as I hear 'em/come up with them myself - and then anything I feel like writing down or cutting out of something, I stick into the corkboard side.

I recommend this little purchase for all of us!

Blessed be,
WW

Steve.....I have focused on nature (which is been much of my focus in recovery) so I have quite a few houseplants and tons of photos of landscapes that I have taken which just puts me so at ease and peace with myself.

I also listen to music that is uplifting and describe what I am feeling. I love Keith Urban's "somebody like you" and Eminem's "not afraid" and keep certain lyrics in me that I think of when I am reflecting on my recovery.

Here is one I think of often:

There's a new wind blowin'
like I've never known.
I'm breathin' deeper than
I've ever done.
And it sure feels good
to finally
feel the way I do.

All the best~
