Hi Im Sharon and Im
an alcoholic.

By the grace of my HP
and people like you
here in SR I havent
found it necessary to
pick up a drink of
alcohol since 8-11-90.

For that and you I am
truely grateful.


Ever played the board
game Monopoly? You
know the "get out of
jail free card?"

Well, when the player
finds themselves having
to spend time in jail they
hand over the card and
rolls the dice once again.

In recovery I havent had
my first slip yet and I
believe there are reasons.

Whenever I share here
on SR or at a meeting
my own experiences,
strengths and hopes of
what it was like before
during and after drinking,
or pray, meditate, or admit
i was wrong, or practice
the principles in all my
affairs, or even find my
self emotionally bankrupt...

I hand over my "get out
of jail free" card to my
HP as I understand Him
He lets me accept life's
trails and tribulations on
His terms and not mine.

That's the way it works
for me.

During my drinking years, my "get out of jail free" card was my military ID.

It never failed me.

Even if I failed myself.

Now I have Veteran plates on my car, so I leave the ID card home, it's now expired anyway.
