Well I did it - my first AA meeting!

and it was fantastic! Thank you to all who advised me to go and thank you to all those that were there that made me feel welcome. How nice to see people face to face and for them to understand exactly what you are going through.

My advice to you all who haven't been or are not sure whether to go or not......is to give it a try! Sport and understanding are so key to us all getting through this.

Sending lots of Love

Ep

congratulations eponine! i went to my first (in over a year–i had gone a few times in the past when trying to get sober but never stuck with it) yesterday and liked it a lot! i went today too. i still havent shared but i did introduce myself and share my day count (3 days). i also havent talked to anyone really but everyone seems really nice and i am going to ask for a sponsor one of these days i think. it seems so intimidating before you go but then its like the most supportive, pressure-free environment. keep posting...id love to hear about your experience if you continue with it.

Hi Eponine and Super71! I attended my very first meeting last night as well - It was wonderful and i'm so very thankful I screwed up the courage to go. Congratulations to you both and thank you to those on this board who make up and volunteer their time and help to AA! HUGE thank you!
