One whole year!
Well, it was exactly one year ago today that my drinking finally caught up with me. I wound up in the ER with severe dehydration and anxiety. I made a vow on that day to not drink "one day at a time." Well, here it is one year later and I don't even think about having one beer, let alone the 12-18 per day that I worked my way up to after nearly 30 years.
I can't believe how much better my life is today without alcohol.
If this old dog can change, then ANYBODY can!

Congratulations on your 1 year mark.
I am celebrating one today too, but mine is 6 months. Your story sounds all too familiar and I hit the hospital on 8/1/09..did rehab and went back out...
Now with a one day at a time attitude, a great sponsor, God and AA I am trucking along

Congrats and big (((hugs))) on reaching one year sober!!!
I'm several months behind you but I too will get there. It's so good to read posts like yours - it's so inspiring! Love from another 'old dog'!
