Were you a daily drinker or every other day? I am very curious to find out how many daily drinkers we have vs people who binge drink or drink heavily every few days. Please take this poll! Thanks! |
Pretty much every single day. Heavier on Thursday and Friday nights. |
Hi Shelly!! Near the end of my drinking I was drinking every other day, just because I was sick from drinking the night before....I tried to just drink on the weekends, but never made it that far... However in the early days of my drinking, I was more of a weekend drinker...but one heavy one!! just shows how slippery the slop gets.... |
Every 3-4 with serious 2-3 day binges occasionally. HEAVY drinker when I did drink. |
Daily drinker. |
I binged everyday. |
Pretty much every day unless life got in the way. |
I would hammer on Tuesday, Thursday then from Friday until Sunday. |
The poll doesn't really fit me... I mean, when? First 5 years: Friday evening, 1/2 750 bottle Second 5 years: Friday & Saturday: full 750 bottle Third 5 years: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & Wednesday: 2 750 bottles plus beer. Last 5 years: Anytime I can get away with it, 2-3 bottles plus a case or two of beer. I live a flexible lifestyle, and that just made it easier to hide. As long as I could function in public as much as was necessary, I could drink the rest of the time. Scheduling drinking (amount I could drink vs. time to sober up to function) became an art form. What a waste of time. (i.e., life) When did I drink? Yes! |
All day, every day...:( |
I was only NOT drinking for 9 days total in 2009....and it was not by choice, i was hospitalized for a neuro issue...once i was discharged, I waited about 3 days then started up again, escalating...to where I drank from the time I got home from work, until the time I fell asleep...drinking to help me sleep.... when I didn't go to work for the day, I would start when I got up and the day went downhill from there. |
Whenever I could get away with it. |
Sad to think that sometimes I stayed late at work as a control mechanism knowing that once I got home it would be drink until sleep. |
I was always envious of people who could take a day off. Not me. |

I can really relate to that. I've thought back about how many days I actually did not drink. I think in 2009 I maybe had three days off? That's when I had the flu. |
Every waking minute that I wasn't at work, morning till sleep, would even drink when I would get up to use the bathroom at nite (would bring two beers to bed with me every nite). Drink when I was sick, wouldn't go out to eat unless they served beer, have brought beer on bike rides around town in my water bottle, and so on. Little more than month later being sober I can't believe the life I was living and all the things I was missing out on just so I wouldn't go without. What a waste! Flip. |
30+ years daily, and the 15 years before, the progression started |
Beer first thing in the morning (usually motivated me to get my day started aka an eye-opener) Frequently drank during the day while I was at work Always drank during the day on a day off Always drank in the evening x8 years of that gave me the liver the size of a small puppy |
Nearly an everyday binger since 2002. Started getting some days, weeks and months of sobriety late in 2008. |
