Day 2 completed.

2 days sober so far. This is good for me as they were holidays and I would normally have been drinking to excess and finally passing out. The main problem I've having is not sleeping, especially without the valium, but I know that will pass.

I'm feeling confident right now, but that's prabably more to do with the fact there is no beer in the house and I'm at work and have tons to occupy myself with.

I really want to stay strong, but sometimes it's so easy just to carry on.

Best wishes all.

Spikeman.

Congratulations Spike!! The first two days are the hardest and you're doing it. I'm only at Day 11 but I can tell you that I feel better and better everyday. Keep going. You can do this!

Good for you!

Keeping no beer in the house is a really good idea.

Good job, Spikeman!! The sleep thing took a while to work itself out, but I still had a smile on my face every morning for those first couple weeks. One of the worse parts of withdrawal and one of the first things to go for me was the anxiety. I started to feel like me again and it gave me even more strength to get through the cravings. Way to go on hanging in there. And yeah, it really does get better!

The first few days are rough, no doubt, but it will get better as the days go by. Just don't pick up that first drink, no matter what.

Great job on making it through Day 2. It will get much better, the sleep, cravings, all of it. Just hang on.

Good job.
Stay busy and don't put yourself in a position where there is alcohol.
