AA question

Hi Everyone ! I am new to the sober life (on day two) I want to start AA tonight but I cannot find a beginner meeting that I can attend tonight. Can I go to any meeting ? What does a CD or closed discussion meeting mean? The only one that I can make it to tonight says that it is a CD meeting .

"Closed" meetings are for alcoholics only, open meetings are for anyone. You don't have to go to a beginners meeting, you can go to any of them. I like discussion meetings as everyone talks about a particular subject and it's interesting. Just go to any meeting and listen with an open mind. :)

I don't attend AA meetings, but there's lots of folks around here that do! They'll be around shortly to give you some info :) There's also a 12 step forum that is more AA related if you have more questions!

Welcome!

That's as good as any meeting for you to start with.
I've never heard of a beginners meeting around my area.

From what I've seen there is no set rule about AA meetings! -for anything except people are there to try to stop drinking!
However, I agree it's complicated about all these codes.
Just go!
