Hi there,

My name is Margareth and I'm an alcoholic. There I said it. I am and I have come to this forum to start mustering up the courage to stop drinking.

I love drinking, I'm for most of the time a happy drinker but it is beginning to interfere with my ability to function as a normal happy individual.

I have been reading some of the posts here and have hung around a bit but the time has come to face my fears and face my addiction.

Welcome. I think we all like drinking as well, it is the aftermath which causes us to become addicted, depressed and obsessed.

Welcome Margareth! You've just taken the first step: admitting your alcoholism and reaching out for help. That takes courage so give yourself a pat on the back. We've all been there, and yeah, it's scary. I was terrified I would come here, only to fail a couple days later. But so far, posting and reading has given me new hope that I can actually do it. The only way to go now is UP, so hang in there and keep posting.
