Sober Saturday
Christ almighty, I got up at 6 oclock this morning, walked thirty minutes to my school and researched a paper for two hours. Before I decided to get sober I hadn't been not hungover (i.e. probably still drunk and still drinking) on a Saturday for a good ten years. Research at 6 oclock on a Saturday morning. Unfrigginbelievable.
In the past, a rainy Saturday would've seemed a good reason to hunker down and drink to oblivion - but then again, so would a day with sunshine, snow, hail, sleet, blah blah blah...
I've got a vanilla scented candle lit, music playing, am baking brownies and loving this time spent with you guys.
Life is good!

Happy Sober Saturday!! 11 days sober today for me.
Nice hot day here, the teens got out and finished moving some things in the back yard so the weed eating could get done, we got a small trailer of yard debris loaded up to haul off and had a good healthy lunch. Plan on a relaxing day of TV inside in the ac now! Chicken is marinating for dinner, something I haven't bothered doing for my family in ages, our meals got to be "quick easy to fix" stuff for a long time. I'm enjoying cooking again, real meals!
Today my 17 year old son said to me in the kitchen "Mom, you never really slurred bad, but you talk SO clearly now." Same kid that was all happy when my eyes became bright again a few days into being sober. It feels good to hear those little things that I know are really big things to my family especially.
I hope everyone has a wonderful relaxing weekend!

I finished my homework, did all the laundry, went grocery shopping and then played some solitaire, sent the kiddo out to feed ducks and fish. And now back to chillin' and enjoying. Hope you have a great weekend too NEO!!!
