Hi..day 3 and checking in.

Well I am now on the evening of day three and starting to see an ease up of my withdrawals....Thank Goodness it's a long weekend off.

I have been having trembles, day and night....night sweats, terrifying images/dreams.......this has scared the **** out of me as I haven't had it so bad when I've stopped before.

However I sit here now, feeling blessed and grateful, as I feel I have moved completely into acceptance of my alcoholism and so truly believe I can never drink again.

I admitted I was an alcoholic quite a while ago. I 'thought' I had also accepted it...but kept going back to it......I never believed I would get as bad as some.....Well my eyes have been opened....I have had a very close call......I am an alcoholic, grateful to have had this last experience, grateful to finally accept this, before I fall any further down.

To anyone feeling like I did, that 'ok maybe I have got a drink problem but I'll control it and never get THAT bad'.....It DOES and WILL get worse.

Thanks for reading x

Day 4 here and I know what you mean about accepting the alcoholism, not just admitting it. I've relapsed a couple or 3 times now, and your post really means a lot to me. Thank you!
