Thumbs up TOPIC: Words = Wounds

Hi Im Sharon and Im an
Alcoholic.

By the grace of my HP and
people like you here in SR
I havent found it necessary
to pick up a drink of alcohol
since 8-11-90.

For that and you I am truely
grateful.

We all know unkind words
can wound us. Verbally
abuse words can wound us
too.

In anger we say things to
degrade someone. To make
them feel less than. To put
fear in them. To knock them
off their pedalstols. Demoral-
izing them.

Children hear this from
school mates. employees
hear this from bosses.
Bullies, punks.....

Who did we think we were?
Who did they think they were?

Words like knives can cut
someone to shreds. Its so
sad human beings can do
such things.

Even I in some time or another
has done it just out of spite
or revenge.

Today i try to be kind and just
remember i have been wounded
terribly in my life but im a sur-
vivor. A rebel. lol

Have you experienced similar
situations in ur life?

Very sad but very true. We use words to wound or kill, and they do.

Hi Sharon....

So sad and so true. Thank you for sharing that with us hear on SR. It is a very good reminder to me how painful it felt at times when others have hurt me and I KNOW too...that I have hurt others myself. Now...that breaks my heart and makes me very sad.

I am grateful and thankful for the program of Alcoholics Anonymous today to help me realize there is a better way of life by trying to live the twelve steps. With my Higher Power in charge, whom I choose to call God....there is no room for such meanness in my life and I pray that God will help me each day to be kind and forgiving as others have certainly been to me.

Thanks Sharon - I needed to read this today!

Love Pancake xo
