5 months today!

Once again, thanks to all of you on SR for the support. I’m still coming here to read every day and it makes a huge difference to have the support of others going through the same struggles. To those of you just starting out for the 1st, 2nd or n’th time, hang in there. It’s worth it and it does get easier with time.

Take care,
BBR

Hi everyone. Thanks for the words of encouragement... they really do mean a lot. A couple of the things that I have learned on SR that have help me in this infancy of recovery:

* Take it one day at a time. Don't think about quiting forever... just do it for today.

* Think it through. What will happen if I take that first drink... I know it will lead to another and another and I'll be back to the miserable life I had before I stopped drinking.

Take care,
BBR

Congrats on your sober time and I agree that continuing with the support is the best way to go.

Gives those of us just starting or restarting the encouragement to see that yes sobriety can be achieved and is such a great life.

God Bless!

I agree 110%. Congratulations on your 5 months. I know how hard it is but it does get easier...doesn't it?

5 months is awesome! I remember really starting to get it my head together, about then.

I liked what you added about how you think it through. I do that too.....do I really want to go back to what I was?

Again, Congrats!
