Maybe, I'm not understanding your post quite right.
You're using beer as a substitute for another type of alcoholic beverage along with N/A beer?
Shot of beer, can of beer same alcohol content, just takes you longer to get drunk drinking beer. At least drinking beer took me longer to get real drunk since, beer is more filling.
