Friends of Bill W on a Cruise?

Anyone go to a meeting on a cruise? I am going on one later this week and I plan to attend at least one meeting. I have basically just gone to my home group so this will be a big change for me.

Just curious about your meeting went and what it was like seeing AA members on the duration of the cruise. Worried about feeling weird.

It only takes 2 for a meeting. You'll enjoy your self. It's always great to meet friends of Bill W. from all over the country.

True story.

RE:Friends of Bill W on a cruise

Been to meetings on cruise as well as all over the country (including Disney). Great thing about AA is consistency - it is the same wherever I have gone to a meeting. Enjoy the cruise and the fact that AA will be there with you

A cruise sounds like a great idea, let us know how it goes. I am new to AA & have been thinking of ideas/ways to also make it more fun. If there isn't a social committee in my group I am considering starting one up (need a little more sober time first though ;-)

There are a lot of fun loving, caring, kind alcoholics here on SR & in the rooms of AA. There is no reason we cant continue our sobriety & have a blast outside of the rooms doing things together.

Thanks for that great story Captain :ring

I can't afford a cruise! Ya'll can send me $1 if you like, it'll add up.

Just joking!

The cruise is on my bucket list.

I was on a cruise where they listed a "Friends of Bill W." group. I told the wife I was going to hit that group. She asked, "I didn't know you knew the Captain."

She thought it was some special, gold circle group with the cruise line or something. Funny how when you call it that, as opposed to an AA meeting, so few know what it really is.

Nice to be able to use that to let people know.

We are a cult you know ;)

I am back from my cruise and I attended a meeting. With one other person in a glass room! It was kind of awkward at first and there were others that were not Friends of Bill in the room as it was the library.

All in all I would say it was great though. Connecting with even one alcoholic really helped and we had a good meeting. It seemed as though virtually everyone on the ship was drinking and it was nice to know there was one of "us" on the ship.

Sometimes, it only seems everyone is drinking when, you're not :)

Something you might look into is sober cruises. Been a while since I've gotten any
e-mails for one though
