I've made it to Day 39 It's been a while since I've been on this site. Finally, got into a detox center and I'm 39 days clean today. The last 7 months have been hard. My drinking was completely out of control. I was up to 2 litres of red wine a night and completely absorbed by it. Nothing else mattered but getting drunk. After a visit to my doctor in September and a long wait, I got into a detox center in March and am currently going thru an inpatient 28 day program (I'm on day 2) and home for the weekend. Going to AA meetings today and tomorrow. It's been hard but is well worth it. I feel better than I have in years, and am working on the issues that underlyed why I felt I needed to numb myself with alcohol each night. Definitely won't be resolved in 28 days (more likely years), but it's a start. I hope everyone is doing well and remember 'easy does it'. |
Congrats on your decision to embrace sobriety.:) It takes some effort to stay sober but is well worth it. |
Well done! Keep focused on your program of recovery. AA worked great for me. |
Welcome back, Bailey! |

I'm glad you're doing well. And, I think recovery is a life-long journey, but it is worth the effort. |
