I just wanted to say Hi to everyone here. It has been a little over a month since my Dad died, for some reason, I can't think of a word to say. I come here often and read, but words escape me. I am sober, and things are, well they just are. I see a lot of clean time being celebrated, and I am so happy for everyone. But for some reason, it is so hard to post. I suppose my world will slowly turn itself back up right, but I wanted to say thank you to everyone who is are helping to keep me sober.

Wow - I kid you not, about an hour ago I was thinking 'I wonder how Surlyredhead is doing' and here you are!

About a month after my Mom passed, I was kind of in a funk myself - it was a non-descript emotional place - not really up, not really down - just kind of stuck in limbo.

It does level out. Today my family members and I share funny stories and the 'remember when Mom did such and such.' I'll always miss her, but there's something more comforting about it now - it's like I 'feel' her with me and I hang onto that - it's calming.

I'm sure your Dad is proud of you for maintaining your sobriety. So glad you posted to let us know how you are. Take care, Cathy.

Hi Cathy. My condolences on the loss of your Dad.

I'm glad you're sober. Learning to live through something like huge. I hope when you're feeling better, that you can share how you did (and are doing) just that. I don't mean to be intrusive, I really don't. And, in some way, it may help well as us.

Glad for your thread, Cathy.

It's good to hear from you, glad to see you are doing alright.

After the death of my niece a number of years ago, I went through a really rough time. I learned then that "you feel what you feel when you feel it". Give yourself what you need to properly grieve and work through your emotions.

Stay strong, and peace be with you.

Hi Cathy, I'm Cook. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad you posted too.
I think sometimes we want to talk and sometimes we want to just be. Maybe in order to begin to heal you wanted to be still for awhile. Silence and reflection can be soothing. (((Big Hugs)))

Hi Cathy. You might not have much to say at the moment, but at least you posted. You're still healing from the shock of losing your dad - one day you'll find yourself with plenty to say once again. It's wonderful you came here and told us how you were feeling.
