I have never been one to toot my own horn, but Today will be 7 days sober for me. The longest I have been sober since I admitted my problem almost a year ago. :c011:

Congrats!. Nice work!

what I did different this time is being completey honest with my husband about how much I was drinking, I was drinking vodka after he went to bed. And being honest with my dr and being monitered by him, I went to a recovery center for an assessment, they told me there I needed to be in a rehab to detox, but I wasnt able to leave my family, they told me to go to the dr so he could monitor me and give me meds to help with withdrawal. So 2 weeks after the assessment and 2 weeks of heavy drinking I decided that was enough. Having my husbands support and the drs to really helps, and of course God and prayers give me strength. My Pastor is very supportive too. I dont know what I would do without her.
If you are trying to get sober and havent been successful, dont give up. One day at a time.

Congratulations, Got2b!

You've got a halo of support all around you. That, along with honesty and one day at a time thinking, are really powerful. I'm so happy for you.

Congratulations, fitness!

Good for you for saying NO. Just thinking the drink through, the consequences, where it leads and saying no is an awesome achievement.

Sometimes, just lying in bed in the morning and realizing how good it feels to be clear-headed is a good start to the day.

I have never woken up sober and hangover-free wishing I had been drunk the night before

I love that

You are doing so well igottobesober, telling everyone is a big move in the right direction, and I know how hard it was.
