Is there eny info or forems that any one can please give me on
post acute withdrawel sindrome.
ive just red a bit about it on the net . and recognize a lot of the simtoms in myself.
is there enything on s/r about it.
and can it be cured .

I'm sorry to hear that you are suffering.

When I was using I was hurting myself spiritually and physically. I treat the spiritual malady with the 12 steps. Even though I started to get better their were lots of bumps along the way where my thinking would in a sense relapse even though I was still sober. There were still lots of after-effects left over from my drinking.

Physically, my story is much the same. I treated my physical malady with not drinking or using, eating as well as I could manage, and a little bit of exercise. Now, I had put a lot of poison in my body and it was stored by the fat and in the other tissues. Because of the regeneration of my body, some of that poison is released back into my blood every, 30, 60, 90, 180, 365 days or so until it's gone. I get some nasty side effects from that. But that, in a nutshell is Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome or PAWS. The only cure is really time.

I was told when I was in rehab that PAWS can last for up to 2 years and that it goes away on its own - over time. And that's been my experience - somewhere around the 18 to 24 month mark is where everything seemed to pretty much clear up for me.

carol . most docters in the uk want nothing to do with you in my exsperianc when you have been on methadon . when i went to mine years ago he flatly refused to treet me and sent me to the drug center.
who were fantastic when i was under there care.
but relesed me about 2 weeks after i came out of detox.because thay are so bizzy and have to many cliants i think.
docters dont seem to trust addicts from my exsperianc.
just seem to hand out sick nots to me for time of work.
so i carnt go to the drug center becasue im not on eny meds and all the docter will do is reffer me to the drug center .If i mention problems with coming of methadon. or give me a sick not.
but im fine with that now.most of the time im 90% ok some times 100% ok

I just feal i need to armed with as much info as possabull and the paws info
has answerd why i am not 100% all the time .
now i need to look for a solution.
