Life or death...

It would be so easy to get 'comfortable' in sobriety, things to be going well and to forget that for an alcoholic; to drink is to die.

I think as long as there is total acceptance that there is nothing over-dramatic about that statement, then it stops you from getting complacent in recovery, and sobriety losing it's NO1 priority.

At 24 and with things looking up it would be easy for my alcoholic mind to start implying that things really weren't that bad... BUT they were... why would I have gotten sober in the first place!! Always remember why you decided to finally sign up to SR and go to AA or whatever if things "weren't that bad."

Yes, things were bad... very bad... how quick you forget that.
And how close l am to going back.
Just a few drinks away...

I think about previous relapses and it was when I was feeling really good! grrrrrr

I think I should take the advice of a few on here to write a journal, and read it when I am feeling good. I wish I had a video of myself the day that I decided that I needed to stop at the end of January this year. It would be good to look at every now and then.
