Prayer request please
 

A dear SR friend here needs the power of prayer to do its work. I would like to request prayers for Astro. He said he could use all the prayers he could get and so I believe he won't object to this. Already put out the request on my Facebook.

Astro is in need of work. He has been recently laid off from a company he worked for 14 years at. Its official tomorrow if our prayers don't change that fact. We don't know that God doesn't have something bigger and better in the works for him either.

If before going to bed or even now you could just take a few moments and pray for him and his family I would sure appreciate it. If you don't believe in prayer then just sending him all the positive energy you can muster would be helpful too. Thank you so very much. xxx

Astro - I loved what you said in another post recently..."I too believe that everything goes according to His plan. So lately, I'm just trying to stay out of the way while He does the work."

:lmao No Paul, I'm alive and quite well, and even if someone doesn't believe in God or have faith it's always good to just wish the best for their lives. I like to think that we all try to do that for each other.

This year has been difficult for so many. Honestly, I'm blessed with a roof over my head, a warm bed to sleep in, food on the table, and the love and support of family and friends. So many people are getting by on so much less.

Every day upon awakening I like to think that I sit up in bed and say "OK God, whaddya got for me today"? so I guess the answer is that He wants me to move on to something else. I have to trust in that.

Thank you for this Sarah, and thank you everyone for even the shortest of prayers. Today I'm praying for my boss, that God is working in his life and that he'll find recovery someday. And me, I'm going to do my best to stay out of God's way.

Astro, if there's anyone here who can face this, beat this, turn it around, and get through this stronger, it's you, mate :)

Well I have to say I'm not surprised that people would step up to the plate. I, of course, know Astro will be fine, but whoever said prayers could hurt? Astro has faith and good solid recovery and so there's no expectation that he will do anything but rise above.

As far as someone dieing because of the way I worded the title "Prayer request please" - I pray for many things in the world and it isn't always about death. We can pray for the still suffering addicts in the world, we can pray for guidance for our government, and many other important issues. There is power in prayer and I wanted a good friend to benefit from that. Sorry to alarm you. Sheesh!!
