Hi Everyone I'm the girlfriend of a recovering addict and I need some help.

I need some advice,

I've been dating my boyfriend for over a year now. He is a recovering opiate user and has been for a year and a half, he was clean when we started dating. For the last month I've had a suspicion that he's been using again. I jumped on his computer while he was asleep, innocently intending to check my email. When the computer wasn't working I restarted the computer and it told me he had recently updated pictures into a file he keeps for pictures he's had for drugs he's done in the past. I looked in the file and there are new pictures in there dated for last month!! I want to confront him about it but I don't want him to know I snooped in his computer. I feel like even if I do tell him he will make up a lie explaining it and accuse me of not trusting him and nothing productive will come of it. What should I do?

Hi Wednesday

I think you should focus on yourself and your own welfare.

No matter how much snooping you do, or how much evidence you find...as you say in the end it comes down to your bf's reaction anyway.

I really think you should focus on your own well being and visit our Family and Friends forums - you'll find a lot of experience and wisdom there from people who've dealt with this situation before.
