Deja Vu

Almost two years ago, I came here and you helped me pour the last of the vodka down the drain and regain control of myself, my life. Thank you again. I have not had a taste of alcohol since then except for the time that I licked the measuring spoon that had the remains of the vanilla on it (by force of habit) and then I spit, brushed, spit some more, rinsed, said three Hail Mary's. The mere thought horrifies me!

Now I take on caffeine. I weaned off the stuff and finally was caffeine free... This morning I drank a mug of coffee -'twas NO cup so I will be honest about it- but it was just 1.- (Uh oh!)

I may have another tomorrow. However, I will not partake during the work week. :scared:

I don't want to HAVE to HAVE the coffee. I want to enjoy it in moderation! :headbange

Know what? I think I'll have decaf. :c031:

Hi, Liberty! If you would like a buddy in quitting the caffeine, I am really struggling with an addiction to soda. Really - it's bad. If I can just quit that now (after quitting vodka for 64 days, I will be free of the several monkeys that were on my back!

Congrats on your sober time! It is difficult to quit all of our addictions at once- I wish you the best. I found it helpful to cut back on the caffeine gradually. (And I am really toying with moderation route again today- my one mug this morning...then decaf and no more until next Saturday.)

The good thing is that we can still enjoy the caffeine free versions of our beverages of choice.

Thanks for the warm welcome backs, ya'll!!!!
