It's only been three days and I'm still in shock over what took place at Deer Creek Middle school in Colorado. My kids were students there just a couple of years ago. I have close ties to Columbine as well. I lived only a block away from there at the time. The teacher that died in Columbine was a friend of mine's father. As far as Deer Creek Dr. Benke "another hero" was my son's math teacher. If it hadn't been for him, things could have been so much more tragic.

I still don't want to drink; regardless of the 2 recent deaths in my family, my brothers heart attack, and now the school shooting. I only have the Lord to thank for keeping me sober.

The name escapes me now but, the guy that grabbed a hold of the shooter is a real hero.
