Can someone give me codeine kicking advice!! Hi guys, bear with me I'm still trying to figure out the site I'm not the best at computers but I know here I can actually tell people without feeling really embarrased! Here in aus we can get codeine over the counter it's 10 mg and 500mg paracetamol! But the codeine is the problem everyday since about 19 so about 3 years ago I've taken between 20-30 tablets a day I know they aren't as strong as the us and stuff but is this a very big amount and how do I take the first step?? Where and how? The only break I had from it was on a Europe holiday and I had no choice it sucked |
Hi Josh Good to see another Aussie :) I've never had a codeine problem, but there are others here who have - some Aussies too. We also have a substance abuse forum, if you want to read down there as well. Substance Abuse - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information The very best thing to do is to see your doctor I think. They'll most likely discuss a tapering plan with you, and you can take it from there :) Welcome to SR :) D |
Thanks heaps :) good to know Genuine people out there who care! :) |
Hi and Welcome, I hope you will talk to your dr about your drug problem. And, please know there is lots of support here. |
Thank you :) I sometimes hate having to take it everydAy but then I sometimes think it's not that bad i mean it's legal but then I read up on the real effects today and it's made me realize it's bad :( |
It ant easy to kick...as you know. But there will come a time...like the one your experiencing...when doing everything to get clean will have so much significance..that getting clean will happen almost naturally. It worked like for me...Your on your way too. |
It's not just the codeine Josh - it's the amounts of paracetamol as well - please see a Dr. ASAP, mate. D |
Thank you guys never told anyone Just feel embarrased to go to a doctor trying to slowly work up |
immodium, pepto-bismol, vitamins and gatorade dude. but talk to your doc about the paracetamol |
Hi Josh and welcome. That's a large quantity of paracetamol that you are ingesting in order to get the codine in ......that could cause serious, irreversible damage. You really need some help so please speak to your doctor as soon as you can. Your doctor has heard this story time and time again. There's nothing to be embarrassed about. Addiction is an illness.....that's what doctors are for. Good luck. |
