2 weeks sober........

And tonight I'm really struggling. I've been having urges to go get a bottle of wine for 2 hours now. The apple I just stuffed in my mouth just doesn't cut it.

I'm not gonna do it...if anything I'll just go to bed. But I'm feeling pretty miserable right now.

Sorry for my miserableness...hope everyone else is feeling happy and healthy xx

I'm glad you came here to post.

Stayinfree, know that getting through this craving will make you stronger and next time will be easier.

hello there... i had those cravings around two weeks, too. and i was really really cranky. i'm only at one month now, but i do feel better. it will get better for you. maybe tomorrow you can swing by the store and pick up a bag of your favorite hard candy to help you with the cravings.
and good going with the two weeks!! keep going in that direction

As Anna said I am also glad you came here to post.
Most of us have been through the same thing and coming here to post helped us stay the course until the craving passed.
The good news is that they will come less often as time goes by.
Along with posting when I got or get a craving, which is almost never now, I would think of one of the occasions when things went terribly wrong when I was under the influence and that also helped chase the craving away.
You are doing great and you did the right thing.
Good on you.

It is difficult getting thru early recovery. Remember too that it takes time for your body and brain to get back to normal functioning. Be good to yourself and don't let the cravings get you. It will get better, it just takes time.

Hang tight. That apple stuffed in your mouth will do you more good than a bottle or 3 of wine would. You'll be thankfull of that apple when you get through these cravings!!

Stay the course, it'l be worth it. Drinking cannot be an option so stick with the apple for now if thats what it takes.

All the best, Peace

Early days are miserable - the good news is it doesn't stay that way

Thanks everyone
Got through another sober night, mostly I've been ok but last night was crap.
I'm feeling very grateful that I woke up sober this morning......I can remember how I would have been feeling if I'd given in and had a drink.
