23 days without a drink

hi guys
been a long time since i posted here but feeling pretty pleased and wanted to share.
i decided last year to take up weight training... hoping so use the same floor that makes me drink to become addicted to training...

i stared early on last year and after 3 months hurt my wrist and was out of action for a few months.. in September i got back into it...

id also long been suffering from hypersomnia so bad that i would often come in from work have tea and sleep for 15 hours straight. so due to this i started looking for supplements to help with it...
after trying a handful i came across one called vinpocetine...
i got some vinpocetine with ginkgo from a health store online and started taking them early December... and they worked great for the hypersomnia but they also had an unexpected affect of alleviating my depression and anxiety which id suffered from for years...

i made a decision to stop drinking and focus on training after xmas which I'm glad to say Ive managed fine so far... don't even want to drink... and I'm putting it down to the loss of the depression and anxiety... so I'm really happy

cheers guys

Glad its working for you huggybear - but, as always here, I must stress it's sensible to run any medications past your physician. There are a number of people who should not take vinpocetine.

Welcome back HB.
I alos came here last January and hung around for the year so far.
I also use weight training and gym work for my recovery.
Good luck in the continuation of your quest.
