Hi All,

Once I decided to live the sober life again (tried 4 years ago for 1 month), I had a real longing in my heart to try to find my old temporary sponsor. I went to Thursday and Friday meetings with no luck. I went to my Saturday morning meeting today and saw him across the room grinning at me from ear to ear.

I can't tell you how overjoyed I was to see him. He came over after the meeting and gave me a huge bear hug and the tears I've been holding up for 4 years all came out (I don't think this will cost me any man points. If so, I can deal with that).

Anyways, we spent 30 minutes talking and he's agreed to be my sponsor again! I know it's a long, long road ahead but, as I write this now, I am at peace.

Go for it at AA and working the steps! Pretend like your life depends on it, which coincidentally it does;-)

Hi Racer,

He was there all along just waiting for you to ask for help again. Just like your Higher Power.

The tears are a good release and real men do cry, you know. I would guess he was just as emotional to see you back.

Good luck with those Steps. Life is just going to get better for you from now on.
