Sober Saturday
 

My son had his 7th Birthday party today in a pub (this is the UK, we like to start them off early LOL)


The best thing about it, apart from not drinking, was that I was not thinking about drinking.

Before quitting I would have gone without in front of everyone else but have 2 bottles of wine chilling in the fridge waiting for me when I got home. Then I would have rushed in the door, told my excited son to wait before he could open any presents and then opened the wine and got some in me before anything else. I would have spent the whole party thinking about that wine at home!

Instead, today I spend the whole party thinking about the party. Just as it should be.

Another hangover free Sunday for me tomorrow. Congratulations to all enjoy their sober Saturday.

Hi there. This is the second weekend of our 30-day experiement and I'm enjoying myself, too, though I'm being pretty lazy today. I'm lounging around because I feel like taking a day off, not because I feel unwell. It's nice to feel really healthy and, like Intention, I'm looking forward to a hangover-free Sunday.

I'm glad your son had such a happy birthday and that you had fun, too, Intention.
