Oh yeah!!
I've been sober since August 25th. What a ride it's been! I'm feeling fantastic and very excited about 2010
I actually started the new year by breaking a bottle of Champagne. It wasn't on purpose. It was given to me to burst open and when I did I accidedently lost it on the floor and it smashed all over. haha. Everyone laughed and I liked the symbolism
All the best to all of you in the year 2010. Without this board I'm not sure I would be here today. Thank you!!

Coming to end of day 3 for me. Anyone had any withdrawal symptoms? You read about things in the books but any real-life stuff? For me, craving sweet things and eating more than usual. Sleep is difficult to get to but better when I do. Feel a bit down tonight which is unusual.
I'm totally in! Day 13 for me and all is going as planned! I'm definitely looking forward to having 2010 be my first completely sober year in 30 years! Woooo Hoooo!!!!
This says it all:
This says it all:
How wonderful to read these posts from newbies and old-timers alike! It's the morning of Day 4 for me and I'm starting to feel good again. Withdrawal for me is minor but I've had lots of digestive issues, insomnia, and brain-fog. Day 2 I had a lot of sweating and, yes, I am craving sweets.
Last night we had company over; two other couples. One of the guests was a very good friend who has been sober herself now for several months. When I started this journey myself a year ago I had fervently wished for her to get into recovery, and now she is and I am starting over. It was good to have someone else there who sipped on n/a drinks all night.
I did have a couple of moments of brief temptation, but I let them go, and it was fine. This morning I have a clear head, but my husband is still asleep and snoring beside me. He drank several beers.
Well, that is the report for now. I am so happy to see so many people tossing their hats into this ring for renewed commitment this year. What an awesome group!

We have resolve and strength. Just the vibe of this thread is enough for me to stay sober for not just this year but for life. What a great feeling. Positive energy all around. Lets go! We got this! I see my life changing right before my eyes and never thought it possible. Words cant explain!
Hey everyone!
I don't normally join forums or post threads or the like... but I've recently stumbled across this site and really like the vibe of this thread, and of the entire forum in general. As such, I just wanted to throw my hat into the ring: I am in!!
Day 7 just wrapping up. 2010: let's do this!! Keep going everyone, I am pulling for you!
Thx!

Wow, this thread is fantastic!
It's wonderful to read all these posts from people who are motivated and feeling good. I definitely had withdrawl issues when I stopped drinking and I don't ever want to go through that again. I was a closet drinker and drank at home, alone, and tried my best to hide it from everyone.
I hope you all keep reading and posting and find SR as great a lifeline as I do.
