That Woman's Angel ...was right over MY shoulder - SR!
Hi -
Something just happened
I thought I should share
with all at Soberrecovery.
A woman came into the store
(I am only able to get online at work
and I work... in a liquor store)
So she comes into teh store
and takes a good bit of time
looking at .. well everything
then she got a couple of soft drinks
that kind of thing.
Well, she loked at the computer monitor
right behind my shoulder
and it's up ... to Soberrecovery.
She says, handing me the money for her stuff;
"are you into that stuff?"
*I know*
And I smile and say,
'Sister, you're looking at the POSTER CHILD for that place'...
Well, now you can put together what happened next.
She was in here fifteen minutes
telling me her family had just 'confronted' her
about her and her husband's drinknig ...
now she had to drive back to *someplace or other*
in the cab of the truck with him.
She comes back here to Butte often, she said;
(got two kids in the college here)
and wanted to meet with me,
maybe take in a meeting.
I wrote down my name and phone #.
I wrote down the website's address.
I wrote down the AA webpage.
We never know, y'all.
We never know who's watching.
We ever knopw ...what the Infinite ... has in mind for us.
I've had the Christmas from HELL.
No sense beathing around about it.
But because I could ground myself here at SR...
a woman is driving a few hundred miles tonight
knowing she's got someplace to go.
And that...
keeps me sober.

That was a very cool story.... funny how karma reminds us of our place in this great big world, huh? You were exactly where you were supposed to be when that lady walked into your store. Thanks for sharing.

There are always at least two perspectives in any meeting. She has hers, and you have yours. Both are meaningful. Good for her, good for you... and now because you shared this encounter, good for me.
