Christmas Eve
Great post Coffeenut and glad you rode out that rough spot, lagirl!
This is my second sober Christmas. I, too, hadn't experienced a sober Christmas for a single time in my adult life, so that is also about 30 years.
Last year, my first sober Christmas, I went into overdrive and tried to do too much. That was a learning experience, and this year is too. I am learning to take it easy. I didn't do any baking this year, I planned a simple Christmas dinner that would not be too difficult to prepare. I set aside a little time each day to clean up the house and do shopping instead of planning for a single marathon event. I gave myself a facial and a mini-spa at home 2 days before Christmas. I never would have done that, ever, when i was drinking! I think I'm starting to "get it"!
