Introducing a new member!!!!
Thanks Horse... not sure where you introduce yourself on the site, so I will just do it here. If there is someplace better, please let me know.
I'm newly sober with 50 days. I drank since I turned 21 daily. Mostly beer, but sometimes would abuse the hard liquors as well. My wife put her foot down and stopped enabling me back in October, and on the 25th, I finally had the currage to admit I was an alcoholic and haven't looked back since.
I'll admit, when I first went to AA, I was looking for answers on how to save my marriage, but I found some great old timers there who told me that the only person I can do this for is me. If I tried to become sober to save my marriage, what would I do if my wife were to leave me?
So, I'm doing it all for me, and I have been very content with that. And guess what? The home life has improved tremendously, I have been offered a new job with a fantastic company (not that my old company was bad), and I am discovering all kinds of great things in AA.
Anyhow, that's my short story, and thanks for the warm welcome.
