Alcohol-free weekend
 

Had a chance to go have cocktails with the girls after the New Moon movie, but politely said I needed to scoot home. They were disappointed. I will have to tell them that I am in recovery at some point but I have said that so many times everyone is like, yeah, right!

Hey good for you. It's a start and when it comes to your recovery, it really doesn't matter whether people believe it or not. You and your sobriety is what matters. Well done. Keep going.
PS: How was the movie? :)

For that reason, I chose to tell no one when I stopped drinking. Focus on your recovery and people will see from your actions what you are doing.

Good for you!! I'm on Day 28 today. I have yet to be in a situation where I've had to decline a social gathering. I've kind of been hiding out at home. With the holidays coming up there's already talk of our neighborhood cookie exchange/party and other holiday events that I enjoy. I'm getting a little anxious just thinking about it. I hope I'm able to stay strong and avoid the tempation as you did.

You'll let others know when you feel ready. I've found most of my true friends to be very supportive. Those casual "drinking buddies" weren't really my friends anyway.

Keep it up, it only gets better:)
