AA meeting in India

Im in India for a business trip and went to AA tonight it was amazing, probably the most uplifting meeting i have been to. 3/4 of the members couldnt speak english and when they asked me to share I am sure those of them that spoke english couldnt understand my aussie accent anyway
But just the feeling in the room to be with people who understood what we are going through and understood the "language" of the alcoholic was amazing.

Cool! What an amazing experience. I was in Athens last month and walked 5 miles to get to an AA meeting. Found the address but nobody ever showed up Ah well, I had my BB with me and look forward to checking out AA meetings in other countries in the future.

Good for you. You know, they say love is the international language, but maybe addicts have their own language everyone understands also. Hmmmm, maybe write a book about it?

Interesting! We had a hard time finding a decent cup of coffee in Greece, and when we did find one the cream of choice was goats milk I thought it was a blast to experience a different culture, and to do it clean and sober was the greatest. Much better than the old days, when a vacation meant drinking my fill at an all-inclusive in Mexico.
