Dunno where to post this?

I hope it's the correct forum.

Did you feel selfish in the early stages of your recovery? At the moment I feel a tad guilty that it's all about me and how I feel, much the same as when I was using.

Is it common to feel like this? I'm not gonna say ''am I being stupid'' because it's how I feel. I just can't seem to put my own stuff aside and, tbh, i'm not really in a situation that I need to put my own stuff aside.

In early sobriety, it is all about you and dealing with all your stuff. Not picking up is the most important thing right now.

I wouldn't worry about it, you've got to look after yourself cos your the only one that can keep you sober.

I was vey selfish in my early days of sobriety, I also reckon I was the most important person in keeping me sober, keep yourself feeling happy and well and your chances of making it through are greatly increased.

The other way to look at it is what use were you to people when you were drunk, I bet a sober you is a less selfish person than the old you wthout you realising it.

Bet you don't lie and hide things as much for a start.

Good luck with it all
