Hello All!

I did not know about the new recovery forum! Much less that we could team up by month! HOpefully, as someone mentioned we'll be discussing here in NOv 2010!

This is my second attempt at quiting. First time I convinced my self after a month that I could control my self to one or two drinks...did not go as planned.

I started Nov 1st...after a halloween party went bad; guess why?

Thanks for sharing this journey with me!

We can be stronger together!

Hey everyone!

Day three - itchy eyes today, what is that about? otherwise great but gray day in minnesota.

Oh my! Someone in the back of the bus just threw gum in my hair! Calm down back there. Where is the peanut butter?

Good morning all! Starting day 3, so happy that I did not decide to drink yesterday. It is spooky, how I can truly have absolutely no doubts during the day about my decision not to drink--but come 4ish in the afternoon or so, the thoughts begin to creep in. Like, ohhhh...I can have 2 drinks! Normal people have a couple of drinks after work, if "I" can just keep control of it, I will be fine!!!

Uh...no. <---------- I just love this smiley, it reminds me of "me" beating up on myself!!

I will not drink today. Hope everyone else has a faboosh day, one filled with sobriety and all things wonderful!

Hi Gingerblue,

Day three for me too. That 4:00 temptation time lasts until about 7:30 for me. After that I seem to be okay. If I can just stay busy between the hours of 4:00 to 7:30.....not the soution but a pretty good start.

That's the pattern Ginger........4 pm and that's what you do.......try and break that pattern, that habit.........do something completely different.........break that routine....make 4pm mean something else!!

I like that smiley too but for me I would need a bigger bat, I am hard on myself! Nice to see you this morning.

Welcome Keni!!

Starting day 2...I have a headache coming on. A nice cold one would normally take care of that for me. Hmmm, maybe I will try tylenol instead this time.
Just back from the dr with my little one who is getting over strep. School ticked me off, they don't want you sending the kids to school sick, but get mad when they miss too much school!

Huh? Are you from the military or something? LOL

Ken some people are in the trying to quit mode and this would be like trying to call them out on it. I have seen this format in other classes and we lost people because of it. Let's just keep it casual, k? You've been here like 5 minutes??????

Just go with me on this one. We need to be accountable to each other. When you've got a group that you don't want to let down, it give you motivation to stay quit. Obviously it's voluntary.

You know what, Vicious, trying just doesn't cut it. I've beaten one addiction and the only thing that kept me quit was the idea of letting down my peers. Why don't we let the others in Nov chime in with their opinions? So what do you say November, you want to really quit or try to quit?
