Update on Co-worker condition....
hi-
Just because a few have asked, thought I'd just put it here?
She's home, but has to travel to Missoula for dialysis.
She's paralyzed on her right side
(the side she was lying on when she was found)
And has a family member moving in to help her out with simple things.
All this -
from sitting down to have a drink
and mixing it with oxycontin.
Something many of us
in our drinking and using days
would have thought nothing of doing.
There but for the Grace of God.

(((Barb))) thanks for letting us know. I've been keeping her in my prayers.
The paralysis and memory problems sound like a brain injury (this is NOT medical advice, just my experience). The combination of alcohol/oxy may have slowed her breathing down so much, her brain went for a while without enough oxygen; she could have hit her head, or had a stroke. There are people who recover from brain injuries but it takes a long time and a lot of patience.
I will keep you, her and her son in my prayers!
