"Car crashes onto couple while sleeping in bed."

Sparks, Nevada, approximately a week ago.
Driver was drunk and had a suspended license.
The couple R okay, escaped with very minor injuries.
Do U think this guy hit his bottom?

Hard to tell. I know that I went through my own personal hell when I got a DUI and had to deal with the consequences of that, but I still continued to drink. I just didn't drive after drinking anymore. It was almost a year later that I finally decided I didn't like what the alcohol was doing to me, so I got help and quit. Of course, what happened in your story is much more serious than what happened to me, so, who knows? It may be enough to shake some sense into the addict.

Serious warning

If rock bottom is further down than running over a sleeping couple... I suppose the bottom would be death or life imprisonment the next time. Because if the drinking doesn't stop immediately... There will be a next time. God must really be looking after that couple to save them

Not necessarily. Hitting bottom doesn't always mean the worst thing that has happened to you, it means the point when you have finally had enough and are ready to make a change. Many people continue to drink even after killing another person while driving drunk. "Bottom" isn't so much an event as it is a state of mind.

suki44883, yes, same here. I continued 2 drink and even drive after my first DUI, then I had a second DUI, over 6 years ago.
Not justifing it, but both of my DUI's were low, 0.05, then 0.04.
That was my bottom.
"But the grace of God, go I."
I sure hope this guy has hit his bottom.

Sounds like he hit the wall, literally, but not necessarily his bottom.

I agree that hitting bottom is a state of mind, when enough is enough.

For his sake, I hope so. When you are so far sucked into your addiction though, it amazes me the things we do and have done. :(
