One week...
Well, folks, today it's been one week of sobriety for me.
I wish I could say it's been easy, but it's been hard as hell. Particularly days 4 and 5 (day 5, I went to an AA meeting and the temptation to stop on the way back and get a bottle of wine was almost unbearable). The cravings seemed to come in waves - they'd start, then get terribly bad, then ebb away. Weird.
Also, I've been having some messed up dreams - one night I dreamed I had sextuplets, another night I dreamed I failed a field sobriety test even when I hadn't been drinking (hahaha). Has anyone else had these issues?

Yes I did and they have passed with time in sobriety.
I was back in balance mentally and physically by
the end of 2 months of AA recovery.
I've also noticed and remember how impatient alcoholics
are for quick results to a past drinking life.
Well done on your early sober time
I'm glad you are chooseing a better way of living
Congrats!
Good for you!! Resisting that temptation to stop was HUGE. I am only on day 10 myself so I can completely identify. The one day at a time mentality is a good one. If I try not to think of not EVER drinking again, but just for this one day not drinking, it really does make it more manageable. I hope your physical symptons have gone away by now. I am back on my treadmill and my exercise routine and eating normally. The ONLY good(?) thing about bad hangovers was that I usually lost a few pounds cuz I couldn't bear the thought of eating anything. Again CONGRATULATIONS on a full week!!

Congratulations on that one week.
U can do this. Focusing on that ODAAT thing also works 4 me.
I could never have made any sober time, if I thought, that I could never, ever, drink again, even tough that is the plan.
Keep going to AA, do whatever U have 2 do to stop the madness, the drinking.
