I am learning that everyone has a story, some worse than others, but that is based on perception.
I am learning that an addiction can be anything, not just alcohol or drugs.
I am learning that an addict is not a bad person, usually just a troubled one.
I am learning that as long as you have breath in your body there is hope.
I am learning that there is a God, who regardless of what we think, loves us unconditionally.
I am learning that I am strong and will recover totally and completely.
I am learning that the battle ground is my mind, so I see it won!

Any form of addiction is a battle, not only because of the addiction, but because it usually goes deeper than that. It is within ones self that a battle rages, a battle that most people have no idea exists, and a battle that we try to run from. These battles are not just mine alone, but ones that others have tossed my way, and I chose to pick up and carry. I am now choosing not to carry them anymore. At times I make that same choice 100 times a day, but as the days go by I make them less and less. Our minds are fine tuned machines, and if it has a problem, our whole being has the problem and then becomes sick. The good news is we have control over ourselves. It is that simple, yet it is not. God states in the bible that when we are weak HE IS STRONG! Sometimes we have to come to the end of ourselves to get to the beginning!

Thank you! It is still a struggle, but with God on my side I know that I can do all things! I am a winner even if my mind tells me I am not! The reason I am is because my creator says so! I try to check in daily if I can, and I will be writing and pouring my heart out here as it helps me and prayfully others as well.
