What's going on???

Almost three weeks with no codeine and I felt so sick yesturday afternoon. I went home and did not have dinner just went straight to bed. Sleep has not been great since I got off the codeine. I got up this morning with a total headache, nauseated, and feeling toxic! What is going on? Does anyone know if this is normal? To feel bad at first, then start getting better, then feel bad again...:c020:

Crazy thought, I know, but maybe you're just regular old sick? Flu? Or maybe you're body is going through a more deeper level of detox?

Feel better soon!

My thoughts exactly.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Keep coming back. ;)

I agree it's possible you may just be plain old regular sick - but please check with your doctor if you're not getting better, or you're worried at all :)

Ditto. The ankle biters are back in school spreading bugs about the general population, caught something probably last Friday-at a meeting-was feeling sick most of the weekend, just getting over it now.

Could be just a common sickness like already said. Can you go get checked out?
Hope you feel better soon.

Yeah, I caught an extra cold/flu a few weeks after quitting drinking. I think it was my body reacting to the new stress of detoxing.

The body is doing a lot of work trying to rid itself of the poisons that we put into it over the years. Get lots of rest, drink lots of fluids & take your vitamins.

Take Care,

NB

I agree with the plain old sick thing. You can probably imagine that when we are detoxing our bodies are hard at work in the healing procesws and may be more suseptible (sp?) to germs. Seeing a doctor is a good idea in early recovery. You may not remember what it's like to actually feel sick because for 7 years now...you would use over it and not feel it ....ya think?

I had a full range of chemistry testing of my blood within the first 60 days of being clean. It gave me and my doctor a baseline to go from.

Hang in there and don't use no matter what.

I gets easier. Remember....7 years it took you to get sick enough to stop using...it may take 7 weeks or possibly even 7 months to get back to your best again. Gosh now that's a fair trade, huh? When considering this remember you are loved.

praying you feel better soon,
Missy

Thanks to all of your for your encouragement. I feel a little better, still not quite sleeping at night, hence perhaps my system is not up to par. I am sure you all are right. I will be seeing my doctor next week as she wants to see me once a month for a while just to make sure I am okay. Sort of an oxymoron as she is great but wants to give me more drugs to help! I refuse them all! :e070:

Thanks Missy for reminding me that it did take me years to do this to myself and I guess my wanting microwave results are just not going to happen huh? :cries:
My husband tells me we are doing this one day at a time...

Blessings to all of you!
~Kolina~
