Finished with poppies...again
 

Hi everyone, I was really suprised to find a site like this.

Im almost finished day 4 of my poppy detox!
When I say poppies I mean the opium type of poppy flower and I would drink a homemade tea from the pods. Has anyone heard of this kind of drug use before and more improtant can someone confirm if the detox from direct poppy consumption is a longer opiate detox than say heroin or oxy?

I used daily but for the last month I really tapered my dose.....but not enough to avoid all the WDs.

I was feeling better this morning but the WDs can back pretty bad.

Thank goodness for NA which I have been attending and I look forward to gettiing some time behind me and becoming a contributing member of this site.

I feel a little better just from typing this.

Welcome. Alcohol was my DOC but I dabbled in about anything, but not poppies. So while I cannot give you my experience I did want to welcome you.

I have heard of this addiction before, but can't offer any advice to you on the detox. I do hope you feel better, and please know that we do understand how hard this is.

Like Anna, it's something I've heard of, but it lies outside my personal experience.

I am (was) a member of a junkie webiste where members posted repeatedly that the detox from poppies was much longer similar to methadone.

But I feel somewhat better and its day 4.....Im so grateful to have gone through the last 72hrs becuase everything looks so beautiful now.
