In search of support

Hi, I'm Mike. I've been browsing sites looking for a good support group.
I have been abusing alcohol for 10 years now. I went to a rehab facility about 4 years ago and went to drinking soon after my release... It is to the point now were i don't want to leave the house because I know what I'm going to do. I work all week just to drink and party my whole paycheck in one night.. Not even enough money to eat on next week...
I've been reading some of the posts here and for the first time i feel.. hopeful...
Thanks for listening.

You don't have to continue to live the way you are. We do understand and we are here to offer support.

Hi Mike! Welcome to SR, it's a great place...

Tell us some more. Are you getting ready to quit or have you?

Mark

You story sounds similar to mine. I went to a rehab for a few months about 8 years ago. I got out and found I had no idea how to resist cravings. As long as I was locked up and drugs were not available, I was safe.

But once I went back to the real world, I had no clue how to stop. I still do not, but I want to.

Thanks, it makes me feel good to know there is people that understand and have been in my shoes or some similar. Yes, I am on my journey to sobriety once again. This time with a lot more confidence. It is only day one for me still trying to shake the jitters.
