I picked mine because I've always been crazy bout horses. I love them. And there just something bout being in the saddle - gives you a since of freedom and flying in away. Plus, they are just so graceful and if you've ever had the chance to have a horse nuzzle you with there soft nose... just so sweet & tickles.

Mine is my grandson and I; he is 1 of my most important reasons for staying sober-I told my daughter that I know I wasn't much of a mom and I wanted to try and make up for some of that by being the the best grandma ever!

I do not feel strong, peaceful, free, or any of those pretty things. Yet I didn't want a lump of coal, exploding glass,fire ball,tornado or anything that descriptive either

So I chose a little plant. One that is growing and will become strong, serene, grounded - the good stuff. To me the hand represents that I have a higher power that is giving me a place to put my roots, so I don't have to worry about falling over. I'm not out there in space all by myself. Now - I'm still working on really feeling that but looking at it is a decent reminder

well....i went through the ones provided and this one fit me best.
quite often after mass consumption of vodka it was the pose i ended up in on my sofa. as embarrassing as it is to admit i would be in this pose and my son's friends would come over and dubbed me 'the thinker'.
one of my regrets is how many times my son must have been embarrassed to see his dad passed out on the sofa in this pose. he said it didn't bother him because all of his friends parents were alkies but at the end the day it couldn't have been his proudest moment.
i could change it to something more positive but since i only have 9 days under my belt i think the self-flagellation is still needed....lol.

Me in the stocks at some renaissance fair. I put it up after my crazy DUI and just liked the image it portrays.

George Rodrigue has tons of great artwork, but his Blue Dog paintings are my favorite. Maybe one day I'll pony up the 15 grand to buy one. Until then, my avatar will do.

It's one of my kitties, Mayah Athena Rose. I saved her as a tiny baby kitten from getting killed. (In Hebrew, Mayah means Close to God) She is very precious and forever grateful just like me for my Sobriety and Recovery.
